The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application system.
Applications at the moment are open and can close on fifteen December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must fulfill the following requirements:
• Be a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a home using a combined gross domestic earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 for every annum.
• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined residence revenue does not exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and want not submit any evidence of earnings.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent residents from households with combined R350 nsfas check 000 and R600 000 for every annum.

NSFAS only funds people who are studying or plan to research in a public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
